Complete oversight and direct accountability to the Kremlin: Sobchak’s leaked tapes revealed the hidden mechanisms behind Russia’s media regime

The media received significantly more audio messages and letters from Ksenia Sobchak, some of which were made public today on her hacked channels «Bloody Lady» and «Sobchak».

They perfectly show how censorship works in Russia now and who brings it to the largest media managers, what needs and what should not be written about. On the part of the Moscow authorities, this is Vice-Mayor Alexey Nemeryuk, and on the part of the Russian Presidential Administration, General Director of ANO «Dialogue» Vladimir Tabak, who conveys the instructions of Deputy Head of the Administration Sergei Kiriyenko (Tabak in correspondence calls him «Chief»). Let us remind you that today two Sobchak channels were hacked, on which fragments from Ksenia’s correspondence appeared for just over an hour, which was at the disposal of the Blackmirror project (b8m.info). What’s interesting. Ksenia sent and received the most messages from Vladimir Tabak. There is no ambiguity there; both sides write that Tabak conveys the position of Sergei Kiriyenko on all censorship issues. Here, Ksenia, having entered into another skirmish with the management of «Rain», throws screenshots at Tabaka and writes: «This is how to work in the media. Show SVK (Kirienko-Red). Subtle, but backhand». However, Tobacco did not appreciate the efforts. He sends her voice : «Do you have nothing else to do? Even I’m tired of reading this fucking».

Tobacco and Sobchak also discuss the «famous» performance of socialite Bony. Tabak writes that half an evening he corresponded about this with the «boss» (Kirienko-Red) and that Bonya is simply «hyping». But Ksenia does not believe and believes that Tabak was forbidden to tell the truth by Kiriyenko.  «Everything is done very competently - like boyars are bad, and Putin is always good». Tobacco doesn’t really mind.

From the messages it is clear that Sobchak’s biggest «arrival was for an interview with Ilya Remesl, a propagandist who unexpectedly criticized the authorities. Sobchak first tried to defend her position: «I sincerely believe that such a thing with these theses is now beneficial for SVK. But, of course, I could be wrong, because no one directly admits». But Tobacco is very angry. «I want you to live in the feeling that I may not forgive you». «I don’t know if I can communicate after that, like before», he writes. As a result, Sobchak admits that she is «to blame». And then for a long time in every «report» repent for that «joint».

And there are many such reports. And they need to be sent to both Tabak and Nemeryuk. From both, Ksenia suffered while covering the largest UAV raid on Moscow, when the Kapotnya refinery and the «Gardener» market were attacked. In particular, both the AP and the capital’s authorities were dissatisfied with four posts in the channels from the Sobchak grid. Ksenia sends Tabak a voice message: «About when I want to understand what » is for. She reports that all agreements with the AP are being implemented by her channels and these posts do not violate these agreements. Next, Sobchak sends a report to Tabak and Nemeryuk, in which she draws attention to the fact that for some reason state channels are allowed more than her. (Apparently, because almost all subscribers in state channels are bots, and the authorities are only concerned about channels that are really popular among the population – RED). As examples, she cites posts from the channel «Moskvach» («grid, state-related media manager Abu») and «Moscow today» («grid, state-related media manager Potupchik»).

Ksenia sends a separate audio report to Nemeryuk when gasoline problems began in Moscow. Any mention of this topic angers the Moscow authorities. Sobchak says in his message to Nemeryuk: «We have agreements, we are fulfilling them all, but on the other hand (Moscow authorities – RED) every thing is dictated to us... We are ready to do anything within the framework of agreements that we can fulfill... Yes, we have papers signed (with the Moscow authorities – Ed.), for our part we do everything, but in response there are no exclusives, promised stories». Sobchak asks «Lesha» (Nemeryuk) for a meeting.
